The Anderberg Story

Michael Anderberg has been involved with fine woodcrafting for over 30 years. Initially he developed and honed his skills by building and refinishing custom furniture and then, 18 years ago, began designing and building guitars. From the outset it was Michael’s vision to create something completely by hand, with no mechanization at all. It is an old-school approach that is rarely seen in today’s computerized luthier workshop. The tone woods are hand-selected by tapping for resonance, the shapes are hand-drawn and refined for balance and old-fashioned comfort and playability, the electronics are individually selected for each instrument like a wardrobe and the hidden innovations are plentiful. Michael has a number of his own patented inventions inside of his guitars that you will find nowhere else in the world. The model names are simply family members; some of them his Scandinavian immigrant grandparents. Michael’s approach to his craft is one that has roots in family, in faith and in artistic aesthetics.
If you have never played a hand-shaped neck on a hand-joined, hand-carved body with a delicious hand sprayed lacquer finish that looks like still water then you need to consider the value that your music has in your life. With so much focus on disposable gadgetry in our culture, owning a piece of living art like one of Michael’s guitars will be an investment that will play dividends for the rest of your life.
